After resolving a problem with our tickets, we finally got in. It’s not something we want to dwell on but we had to buy a second set of tickets at the arena and once we were inside and had WiFi we weee able to access our original tickets so we switched between seats a little but Chris ultimately like center court seats better.
We ended up with four souvenir T-shirts due to having four seats so we gave one to our limo driver and one to the server who brought our breakfast room service. They were both extremely grateful- this town really admires their team!
Unfortunately, the Spurs offense didn’t show up.
Some fans behind us were a little wild.
“He’s eight feet tall, why are you babying him.” That was in reference to fouls being called on Spurs against one of the taller Thunder players - but the same could be said for Wemby who is quite tall.
We had a Thunders fan and his son right next to us, and for a while it seemed like things were going to get ugly between the drinking bunch behind us and the nice fans next to us but it settled down.
It was a great learning experience to be live at the game! - but it’s actually a little easier to follow on television (at least for Chris who benefits from hearing what the foul is.) The one hand signal that is clearly understood is the one indicating traveling. And that always stirs up bad memories of high school PE when she was thrown the ball, caught it and traveled in the wrong direction on the court. Never to be seen in PE class again (not sure how I got away with that.)
Mike rented a camera because you can’t take anything in with a lens over three inches - these shots came out pretty good! Better than the shots the team was not making ………
